YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. The oligarchic system of economy in Armenia poses a threat to the country’s national security, Richard Giragosian, a political analyst and the head of the Regional Studies Center, said Thursday at a discussion of the Armenia-EU Association Agreement.

Сегодня 13-го июня в гостинице «Ани» в Ереване состоялось обсуждение по вопросу Соглашения об Ассоциации Армении с ЕС, вызовам и возможностям безопасности в этом контексте. Директор Центра региональных исследований Ричард Киракосян, говоря о важности соглашения, сначала выделил возможности в соглашении. По его словам, по этому соглашению Армения получает возможность воспользоваться новыми стратегическими возможностями.

In cooperation with the Embassy of France in Armenia, the Regional Studies Center (RSC) invites you to a special presentation by Dr. Claire Mouradian on Wednesday, 12 June at 14:00, to be held in the Golden Tulip Hotel’s Vivaldi Room. Dr. Mouradian will present an analysis of the historical Russian colonial view of the Caucasus from the Tsarist through the Soviet periods.
Please note that the presentation will be in French, with translation into Armenian only.
Dr. Mouradian is a prominent French historian specializing in the history and geopolitics of the Caucasus, and is the Research Director at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and teaches at L'École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS).
As an independent “think tank,” the Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers a regular series of similar events and briefings, aimed at providing an alternative source of objective analysis and information covering a wide range of issues.
