ARMENIA EMBRACES SYRIANS, WARILY

More than six thousand Christian Armenians from Syria have poured into Armenia in recent months, escaping the civil war back home. WSJ's Joe Parkinson reports from Yerevan.

.“First of all, we should prevent oligarchs from entering parliament and form such a political system that will be independent of individuals”, sad Richard Giragosian at the press conference. he noted that oligarchs hinder economic development of the country. They increase their influence also through parliament and get free of taxes.

“Armenia is more stable than Georgia and Azerbaijan. To maintain that stability Armenia should seek to become a more democratic country, relying on its own resources. To this end, it is necessary to challenge the oligarchs who enjoy privileges in the market and are the main threats to Armenia," said Richard Giragosian.
